SUMMARY:Mé Lon Togo - Support Our Growth
DESCRIPTION:Me Lon Togo’s next chapter in Freeport is about more than just reopening a restaurant—it’s about building a home where food\, music\, and community come together. Chef Jordan Benissan first welcomed friends and neighbors around his own kitchen table to share the warmth and flavors of his West African heritage. Now\, he’s inviting you to help bring that same spirit to downtown Freeport. \nTo open our doors\, we face several key funding needs—including a required $92\,000 sprinkler and fire safety system. With some support\, we’ll be able to open with a limited (but still incredible) menu and begin welcoming the community. But to fully bring our vision to life—with a complete kitchen buildout\, an expanded West African menu\, and the full experience we’ve been dreaming of—we need your help to reach the full goal. \nEvery contribution\, big or small\, helps move us forward—and as a thank you\, you’ll receive 120% back in dining credits to use for meals\, drinks\, and events at Me Lon Togo once we open. It’s a true win-win: you help us build something meaningful\, and you become part of every celebration and story to come. \nThank you for helping us open our new home in Freeport. We can’t wait to share this next chapter with you. \n Help Mé Lon Togo Open! \nMé Lon Togo\n58 Main St\,\nFreeport\, ME\, 04032\n(207) 872-9146\ndinemelontogo.com

SUMMARY:Meetinghouse Arts & Freeport Climate Action Now - Becoming Seagrass
DESCRIPTION:A participatory performance blending science\, art\, and movement to explore and protect Casco Bay’s vital seagrass ecosystems. \nPassamaquoddy Language Keeper Dwayne Tomah\, COBALT/Team Zostera dive team\, artists and musical guests lead a joyful celebration of Casco Bay’s superhero species of seagrass. Known locally as eelgrass\, to scientists it is called Zostera marina and for thousands of years the Passamaquoddy people referred to this species as supeqi-pskihq. Join us to not just learn how to pronounce it\, but to actually become a seagrass meadow. \nReserve your free ticket and support COBALT’s efforts to research and restore seagrass meadows in Casco Bay with a donation during registration! \nFREE TICKETS \nMeetinghouse Arts\n40 Main St\,\nFreeport\, ME 04032\n(207) 865-0044\nmeetinghusearts.org

SUMMARY:Desert of Maine - Tom Wessels Ecology Walk
DESCRIPTION:Free with Admission to the Desert of Maine! \nThe Desert of Maine has quite an unusual landscape history. Tom Wessel’s interpretive walk will explore that history based on the evidence we will encounter as we wander the property’s woodlands. This includes how to age its trees\, evidence of past logging\, and when areas were abandoned to grow back to forest. We will also cover some of the unique adaptations of the trees that have recolonized the site\, plus a look at successional patterns on sand and the unique role that lichens play. \nTom Wessels is a terrestrial ecologist and professor emeritus at Antioch University\, where he founded the master’s degree program in Conservation Biology. He has conducted programs and workshops throughout the United States for over 3 decades. Tom is the author of numerous books\, with his latest being New England’s Roadside Ecology: Explore 30 of the Region’s Unique Natural Areas. If you are not familiar with Tom’s interpretive walks\, you might check out his YouTube videos. \nTICKETS \nDesert of Maine\n95 Desert Rd.\nFreeport\, ME 04032\n207-850-3025\ndesertofmaine.com
