Freeport Community Library – October Art Exhibit with Mary Mraz
Oil painter Mary Mraz will be showing at Freeport Community Library for the month of October. This event is free and open to the public.
Mary Mraz started painting 21 years ago. What started as a part time hobby has since become an enjoyable passion. She is a retired Nurse Practitioner who moved from Philadelphia to Aroostook County in Northern Maine in the 1970s where she was inspired by the vast landscape of the region and the county’s never-ending horizon.
The current exhibit depicts scenes from her wanderings as she sails, hikes, skis and travels through the amazing seasonal beauty that New England and Canada have to offer. She has participated in a workshop with Tom Hughes en plein air, as well as one with Bjorn Runquist on painting water. Currently she is working with oils doing both en plein air and at her studio in Freeport.
