SUMMARY:Amtrak Downeaster - Resumes Limited Service June 15
DESCRIPTION:The Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA) announced yesterday that the Amtrak Downeaster will begin Phase 1 of Service Restoration beginning June 15\, 2020. Service will resume with one round trip on weekdays only between Brunswick\, ME and Boston\, MA: southbound Train 680 and northbound Train 685. Downeaster service has been suspended since April 13\, 2020. \nA number of protocols and procedures have been implemented to protect the health and safety of passengers and crews. \nHighlights of Phase 1 Service Restoration Plan: \nAmtrak has implemented new cleaning and disinfecting protocols nationwide\, and train equipment used in Downeaster service will undergo enhanced cleaning before and after each trip.\nCrews and passengers will be required to wear face covering while boarding and moving about the train\nThe number of passengers per train will be limited to no more than 50% of available seating capacity so riders are able to adhere to physical distancing guidelines.\nAdvance reservations are required and cash sales will not be accepted.\nStation facilities will not be open; passengers should go directly to the outdoor platform to wait for their train.\nCafé service will not be available\, however complimentary water will be available upon request.\nStations are being updated with signage and other enhancements to promote public health and physical distancing.

DESCRIPTION:Brendan Lake is a singer/songwriter and small boat adventurist who has sailed his ships and sung his songs for audiences in harbor towns on the east coast from Maine to the Florida Keys\, in Europe and the Azores. He played all around the San Francisco Bay area while living aboard his schooner and gained notoriety there as a solo act. Since returning to his home in Woolwich Maine\, the ever changing lineup of his combo “Brendan Lake and Friends” has solidified into his current band “The Work Trucks”.\nChris Lannon spent 30 years in music production/engineering in Boston with over 1000 titles to his credit including numerous Boston Music Award winning artists\, a Ken Burns documentary soundtrack\, touring as bass player and recording in a band with Ben Orr (the Cars)\, recordings and live sound support for Peter Wolf (J Giles Band) and Studio support for Carley Simon and Don Was. DESCRIPTION:The Phill Argyris Trio came together via their common friendship and collaboration with late Boston-area jazz guitarist\, Bob Johnson. Pianist Phill Argyris and bassist Jerry Wilfong played with Johnson for more than 30 years around the Boston Jazz scene and performed together as far away as France. Drummer Sheldon Perkins worked his way into the band by marrying Bob’s daughter Lisa. \nThe trio plays straightforward interpretations from the Great American Songbook with an energy that is sometimes driving and sometimes pensive. This show will feature a number of selections from Phill’s albums Next Steps and Quartet Stories as well as Johnson’s album Musings. This performance will mark the first time these three musicians have played together since before Bob’s passing in 2016. DESCRIPTION:Alex Minasian is a jazz pianist. Alex has had the pleasure of being the pianist and musical director for two iconic\, legendary jazz vocalists\, Little Jimmy Scott and Mark Murphy\, as well as touring with Rock and Roll Hall of Famers’\, Little Anthony and The Imperials. I wanted to send an email and introduce myself. Alex has performed at some of the hippest jazz venues across the US –Dizzy’s\, The Blue Note in NYC\, Yoshi’s in San Francisco\, and the House of Blues in Hollywood to name a few. \nAlex also has performed with artists from all kinds of genres\, such as James Ingram\, The Roots\, Arturo Sandoval\, Sam Moore\, Marilyn McCoo\, and most recently leading the Billy Vera Big Band. DESCRIPTION:The Last Man Standing Ultramarathon is a different type of event with a new “race” starting every hour on the hour. There will be no male\, female\, or age group awards\, only the Last Man Standing. \n​The course will be a 4.2 mile trail loop with nice double track and some moderate elevation gain. It will be an easy loop to finish in under an hour for most people. At least for the first few times around! \nRace organizers will provide a 40′ X 80′ tent with water and some snack food.
