DESCRIPTION:The first step to building a resilient native plant garden\, a wildflower meadow\, a native hedgerow\, or a native buffer planting is to familiarize yourself with the site’s conditions\, to best match the right plants to the place. When well-matched to your site\, native plants will establish quickly and repopulate the landscape without need for supplemental water\, soil amendments\, fertilizer\, pesticides\, or frequent pruning. Brennan\, a former student of Ronald Lantz\, recently filled the Portland String Quartet position vacated by his retirement in 2022. Their varied program will center on the rarely performed masterpiece by French composer Jacques de La Presle\, his Sonata for Violin and Piano\, an ecstatic work written in the heat of passion for his young fiancée. Also on the program are works by Ernest Chausson\, Christian Sinding\, Jean Sibelius\, Joseph Canteloube and Astor Piazzolla.
