Nordica Theatre – Maine in the Movies: Charlotte’s Web (1973)

Arts & Cultural Alliance of Freeport is excited to be partnering with Nordica Theatre to participate in the statewide Film Festival – Maine in the Movies – in celebration of Maine’s Bicentennial.
Charlotte’s Web, animated, 1973: E.B. White’s beloved children’s tale is brought to life in this animated film, which finds the young farm pig Wilbur (Henry Gibson) attempting to avoid a dire fate. Of all the barnyard creatures, Wilbur’s staunchest ally is Charlotte (Debbie Reynolds), a thoughtful spider who devises an intriguing plan to keep the gentle little swine out of the slaughterhouse. Although Charlotte’s efforts, which involve words written in her delicate web, seem far-fetched, they may just work.
The movie will be followed by a scavenger hunt called Templeton’s Trail! Templeton is a very resourceful rat. He is running around Freeport, looking for wrappers that have clues for you, in businesses marked on the map! For details and official rules click here!
