I’m Dave Nutting with Maple Iron Forge, I discovered blacksmithing about 5yrs ago and this has become a passion I can’t really get enough of. In 2022 I volunteered in the blacksmith shop at the Maine Maritime Museum and found that to be a very rewarding experience. My wife and I have set up at the Axe Pit in South Portland the past 2 years during their festival and we had pretty good success, I also setup and demonstrated at the same time. I make the traditional blacksmithing items but try and put my own twist on my work. My wife and I have worked together on a few projects where she has painted a sign and I forgets the sign bracket, I have been selling axes and tomahawks at a few local axe throwing businesses, and selling custom mailbox brackets that are used on granite posts.
