From my home studio in Yarmouth, I focus on heritage crafts, especially the rarely practiced art of tying brooms. I create whisk brooms, pot scrubbers, and full-sized brooms from natural materials like tampico fiber, broomcorn, hemp and linen cord, and real wooden handles. Handmade brooms are both beautiful and functional--pretty enough to display and hardy enough to use every day. If you haven't swept with a corn broom before, you're in for a treat! Corn brooms and scrubbers simply work better than the typical synthetic alternatives, while using a heck of a lot less plastic. I love to incorporate color into my work, making an everyday object and an everyday activity feel special, vibrant, and even fun.
