On May 16th, Uprise will host a special event with local author and Uprise student, Caitlin Shetterly.
Her new novel, The Gulf of Lions, is about a mother who has recently gone through breast cancer treatment and a mastectomy. In an attempt to seize her life, she takes off for a road trip around France with her two daughters in tow. Part mother/daughter story, part love story, and part story of the long odyssey of making a family, this book has already been heralded as one of summer’s most anticipated novels. Elin Hilderbrand calls it a “Five-star read.”
In partnership with Sherman’s Books in Freeport, Uprise has the opportunity to share The Gulf of Lions with our community 3 days early, as the official release day is May 19th!
Join us for a class and refreshments after the class where you can meet the author – who will also have just taken class with you — have her sign your book, and listen to Caitlin speak about her own journey through breast cancer.
