heather frank studio makes handmade upcycled bags from discontinued upholstery fabrics. Most fabrics are acquired from the Boston Design Center where high end luxurious fabrics take center stage. As the fabrics change each season, the samples are no longer needed and I collect them to save them from the landfills and give them a new life as a gorgeous bag. Each bag is unique in size and design as are the fabric samples I collect. I hope you find the bag that makes you smile and brings you joy as I truly love making each one.
My mother grew up in Bath, Maine and loved fabrics and sewing from a young age. She went on to study costume design at Syracuse University and dedicated her life in so many ways to textiles. She passed on her passion of fabrics to me. I spent most summers in Maine and consider it my second home.
