At Myers of Maine Woodworks, we are passionate about crafting. We believe that creativity is one of the keys to happiness, and that everyone has the ability to create beautiful things. By hand selecting the materials and carefully planning the design, we can present pieces that will be cherished for many years to come.
I get to do what I love - create handcrafted pieces of art out of wood. I particularly enjoy boxes because there are so many uses for them. My boxes are solid wood, no veneers. Emphasis is put on craftsmanship and quality construction.
Many of our box lids are book matched and the sides feature a continuous grain pattern. I personally design and construct our handmade crafts from the beginning, selecting wood from high quality American species to selections from Africa, Europe and Southeast Asia. When the piece is finally ready, I apply the finish by hand using oils and waxes or lacquer.
