Artist Linda Rowell-Kelley Paints Local Freeport Landmarks
Stop by Freeport Community Library’s adult reading room during the month of May to appreciate paintings of dreamy Maine landscapes and landmarks by Linda Rowell-Kelley.

A lifelong student of art, Linda studied sculpture, drawing, painting and graphics at the Portland School of Art (MECA) in Portland, ME and has lived in this state since 1969. A prolific artist, she has studied and painted on the coast of Maine and the outer islands for several years.

Linda works “outside the box” making spiritual and sometimes political statements through art. She is a Reiki practitioner and sees art as one of the great healers. Her work is a mix of the seen and unseen and she walks the line between realistic subjects, impressionism and abstraction. She has a love of the outdoors and often paints en plein air.

Her work can be found locally in coastal galleries, restaurants, local inns and businesses. Her work may currently be found in the Meetinghouse Arts Galley in Freeport, The Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset and several businesses on Mount Desert Island. Freeport locals will recognize familiar structures and scenes in her art, including Winslow Park, Wolfe’s Neck Farm, Tidebrook Farm, Pineland Gardens and the River Walk in Yarmouth.

This event is free and open to the public during regular business hours. For questions, library hours, or directions to the library, please visit freeportlibrary.com or call 207-865-3307.
