Freeport Oyster Bar – The Maine Oyster Festival Meet The Farmers Party

Join us for the fourth annual The Maine Oyster Festival in downtown Freeport! Kick off the weekend’s festivities at Freeport Oyster Bar!
Every year, Freeport Oyster Bar kicks off the oyster festival with a party to allow guests to meet the local sea and oyster farmers whose products will be highlighted throughout the weekend. The meet the farmers event will feature live music, local marine sea products as well as drinks and brews. Tickets will include light appetizers and a complimentary beverage, and other menu options are available for purchase. $15 per person ($17.85 including fees)

About Maine Farmed Seafood Coalition:
Maine’s aquaculture industry, the sea farming of shellfish, finfish and sea vegetables is growing, providing more healthy world class Maine seafood, employing hundreds of Mainers and contributing to the strength of Maine’s working waterfronts. Given these proven benefits, the sector is committed to telling its story to gain more support for its growth, and to earn its place with other iconic Maine sea products.
To assist in telling the complete story of Maine farmed seafood, FocusMaine, the Maine Aquaculture Association, Coastal Enterprises, Inc, the Island Institute and the World Wildlife Fund have come together to form the Maine Farmed Seafood Coalition. This coalition is being built to advance the many positives of farmed seafood with a number of key external Maine audiences including the general public, the fisheries industry, state government, elected officials, the media, research and academia and other opinion leaders. The MFSC was formerly launched in the first quarter of 2025 and is now working actively to recruit members and advance messages on the importance of Maine farmed seafood.
