Free(port) Speech presents Ann McKee, MD – Grey Matter Speaks: What Our Brains Tell Us About Sports-Related Head Trauma
It’s time! Tickets now available to see Dr Ann McKee! Ann McKee, MD, is a neurologist and neuropathologist who focuses on Alzheimer’s disease and the consequences of repetitive traumatic brain injury, including chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). Dr. McKee is the chief neuropathologist at the VA Boston, and Director of the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and the Boston University CTE Center Her groundbreaking work on the long-term effects of repetitive head impacts, concussion and blast injury in contact sports athletes and military veterans revolutionized scientific thought regarding head trauma. Through the BU Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and CTE Center, she created the UNITE brain bank, the world’s largest repository of brains from individuals exposed to traumatic brain injuries. This will be an incredible and intimate event held right here in Freeport.
Net Proceeds will be for the benefit of FCS and the Carol Southall Youth Camp Scholarships.
