L.L.Bean – Women’s-Only Introduction to Sea Kayaking Combo Course

Discover a new horizon and explore the exciting world of sea kayaking in this fun, full-day course designed just for women.

Perfect for beginners, recreational paddlers and anyone else who needs a great refresher course, our combination course teaches basic kayaking strokes and skills, plus safety techniques.

In small groups with knowledgeable instructors, you’ll receive friendly, personal attention and one-on-one coaching. We’ll explain kayak design, paddling terminology and boat fit. You will learn the proper mechanics for the forward stroke, turning strokes like the forward and reverse sweep and stern draw, plus safety techniques including wet exits, T-rescue and self rescue with a paddle float. Then you’ll take a short, guided tour using your new skills, enjoying the natural beauty of the area.

Our experienced guides are passionate about sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for this healthy, low-impact sport, making your day even more enjoyable and inspiring.

All necessary paddling equipment is provided.
