Mast Landing Audubon Sanctuary – Spring Plant Walk

April 2 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us for a plant walk for all skill levels, focused on identification of native, naturalized, and invasive species. We will learn to identify our most common species, how to separate lookalike species, and how to contribute our sightings to community-based science projects like iNaturalist. We will meet in the parking lot and walk a slow loop, usually less than 1 mile, with frequent stops to talk about the plants we encounter. Waterproof shoes are recommended; trails can be muddy. The walk is offered free of charge, but donations are encouraged.

Only one mile from the bustling downtown of Freeport, Maine, Mast Landing Audubon Sanctuary is 145 acres of diverse habitat rich in human and natural history. It is located along the Harraseeket River estuary, with more than three miles of trails that wind along a stream and tidal marsh and through orchard, fields, and forest.
