Meetinghouse Arts – Our Town: A Community Self Portrait

May 25 @ 12:00 am - June 8 @ 11:59 pm

Residents of all ages are invited to explore, create, and reveal what makes Freeport the place they call home. Our Town: A Community Self Portrait is an arts-based, community driven documentary project, organized by Meetinghouse Arts and funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Margaret E. Burnham Charitable Trust.
From May 25th through June 8th, we invite ALL Freeport residents and businesses to photograph and write about the people, places, objects, traditions, and activities that exemplify what is meaningful and distinctive about our town. The work, a collective snapshot of this time, will be the basis for exhibitions and community conversations in October. The project is inspired by and continues the work of the Freeport Downtown Vision Plan. As with the development of that plan, the community is broadly encouraged to identify what’s here and what’s missing to help articulate a town identity.
