I love to create unique and functional wearable art by snow-dyeing silk and hand-dyeing, weaving and felting luxurious alpaca into warm and useful items. Alpaca fiber is wonderful in both natural shades and dyed in a rainbow of colors, and is excellent in items from handwoven core-spun rugs, to felted soap, handwoven scarves and ponchos. Snow-dyeing uses the cold snow to slow the dyeing process, allowing the dyes to split and create one-of-a-kind designs on the silk. Like a snowflake, no two are exactly the same. Between silk and alpaca, you are covered for all of Maine’s seasons.
