Jonestead General Store

As a permaculture homesteader and artist based in Bethel, Maine, I specialize in offering heirloom varieties of beans, vegetables, and herbs that are specifically suited for the short New England growing season.

In addition to my seeds, I also create unique harvest and hanging baskets. What makes them special is that they are made from upcycled and repurposed maple sap tubing. This tubing is typically used for several seasons but eventually needs to be replaced, as per the guidelines set by MOFGA (Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association).

My products not only promote sustainable gardening practices but also showcase the beauty of repurposed materials. By using the discarded maple sap tubing, I aim to reduce waste and give it a new life as functional and aesthetically pleasing baskets.
