Shirley Anderson has always loved to paint, She is primarily a New England landscape artist, born and raised in southern Maine and has developed a love for the outdoors that influences her artwork.
She enjoys painting in acrylics and oils, sometimes starting in acrylics and finishing with oils. She primarily paints on canvases using high pigment paint and various techniques she has learned over the years.
As an award winning artist, Shirley paints what inspires her. Salty Ambiance is her biggest triptych painting, it measures 9 ft across and features the world famous Portland Headlight Lighthouse at sunrise. This painting captures the beauty off the Maine coastline and is a must see in person!
Shirley is primarily a self taught artist , whose work started as a hobby that has bloomed into a successful career in art.
She displays works in an online artist gallery and juried art shows throughout the year. She is certainly a people person and prefers to present and meet clients in person as much as possible.
