Lou Caruso was born in New Jersey and moved to Cumberland, Maine 5 1/2 years ago, where he resides with his wife, Lisa. After 40+ years of working on people’s houses, he decided to scale back and build bird houses, feeders, fairy houses and such. Believing birds don’t really care much about porches and rockers and other cute things, he chose more natural materials as his mediums. His structures are built primarily from discarded tree limbs, trunks and roots. The rest consist of over 90% recycled, reclaimed or repurposed materials and are designed to blend in with natural surroundings.
