2017 Season

Always…Patsy Cline | JUNE 7-24
One day a voice from the television screen spoke to her. Louise Seger was hooked. Making a special trip to a honky-tonk bar in Houston, Texas, Louise met her idol, Patsy Cline. Here was a woman that gave her soul a voice. Over a pot of strong coffee, a friendship began that would last until Patsy’s untimely death in 1963. Through letters and visits, the two share the homespun stories of laughter and heartache that brought together a housewife and a legendary country singer. This fun-loving, crowd-pleasing musical features 27 classic songs, including, Crazy, Walking After Midnight, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams, Back In Baby’s Arms and more.

Guys and Dolls | JUNE 28-JULY 15
Frank Loesser’s celebrated musical comedy about rolling the dice and falling in love under the bright lights of Broadway is considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy. Set in a mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they have been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.

Grease | JULY 19-AUGUST 5
Dust off your leather jackets, and twirl your poodle skirts! It’s Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding, Burger Palace Boys and their gum- snapping, hip-shaking Pink Ladies. Head greaser Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high school romance of their Summer Nights as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through the the unforgettable songs from the hit movie including “You’re The One That I Want,” “Grease Is The Word,” “Summer Nights,” “Hopelessly Devoted To You,” “Greased Lightnin’” and many more. So throw your mittens around your kittens and hand jive the night away with the show that’ll make you want to stand up and shout, ‘A-wop- bop-a- loo-bop, a-wop- bam-boom!’

Newsies | AUGUST 9-26
Set in New York City at the turn of the century, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged ‘newsies,’ who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. Inspired by the real-life ‘Newsboy Strike of 1899,’ when newsboy Kid Blink led a band of orphan and runaway newsies on a two-week- long action against powerful newspaper publishers, this timely and fresh fictionalized adaptation addresses age- old themes of social injustice, exploitative labor practices, and David-versus- Goliath struggles as the young learn to harness their power against a corrupt establishment.  This is an all singing and dancing high-energy show with non-stop thrills featuring a score by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman including “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” “King of New York” and “Santa Fe.”

Sleeping Beauty |JUNE 14, 10 AM – 12:30 PM | June 17, 11 AM, 10 AM 1, 4 – 7:30 PM|
A recipe for a very colorful musical: start with the Andrews Sisters-inspired trio Ruby, Marigold, and Periwinkle; mix in the evil Queen Magenta; add Sienna the talking owl; then blend the muddled monarch King Lapis with an allergy-prone Prince Hunter and a particularly peculiar Princess Amber. Top it all off with a fire breathing dragon and you have a musical retelling of the Brothers Grimm tale teeming with shattered stereotypes, broken rules and quests aplenty.

The Taffetas: A Musical Journey Through the Fabulous Fifties | JUNE 14, 2 & 7:30 PM
Journey back in time for a fun, nostalgic romp through the songs of ‘50s. A quartet of sisters – THE TAFFETAS – from the Midwest is determined to sing their way onto national television. Enjoy being a part of their debut studio audience as they knock your bobbysocks off with a musical revue paying tribute to the McGuire Sisters, The Fontane Sisters and the Chordettes with hits like; Johnny Angel, Mr. Sandman, You Belong to Me, Sh-Boom, Where the Boys Are and many more. Be there or be square!

The Hank Band | JULY 10, 2PM 7:30 PM
Jump into your boots, dust off your Stetson, and take a walk down that Lost Highway with The Hank Band. Playing songs that capture the timeless music of a bygone era, The Hank Band is comprised of passionate musicians inspired by the music and the poetry of Hank Williams, Sr. Coming straight from the heart and soul, the Hank Band performs stories of love, joy, and loss as only Hank Williams could tell them. Featuring hits like “Long Gone Daddy,” Honky Tonk Blues,” I Saw the Light,” “Jambalaya” and more!

The Who’s TOMMY | JULY 31, 7:30 PM
Based on the iconic 1969 rock concept album, The Who’s Tommy is an exhilarating story of hope, healing and the human spirit. The story of the pinball-playing, “deaf, dumb and blind” kid who triumphs over his adversities has inspired, amazed and puzzled audiences for more than 40 years. After witnessing a murder, Tommy is traumatized into catatonia. But when he's discovered to have an uncanny knack for playing pinball his mother finally breaks through to him and he becomes an international pinball superstar. The Who’s Tommy features an exhilarating score including “Acid Queen,” “Pinball Wizard,” “Cousin Kevin,” “Uncle Ernie,” and “I’m A Sensation” in this rock classic!

Alice in Wonderland | AUGUST 21, 10 AM 7:30 PM
Welcome to Wonderland where everything is curiouser and curiouser! Live on stage, this fun-loving musical by Marc Robin and Curt Dale Clark brings Lewis Carroll’s beloved classic to life as Alice journeys into a world of talking animals, the Mad Hatter’s frantic tea party, the watch-carrying White Rabbit, and a trial headed by The Queen of Hearts during which Alice suddenly finds herself the accused! This is a modern view to an old classic, where nonsense makes quite good sense.
