Stars & Stripes Brewing is a veteran owned and operated craft brewery, donating a percentage to veteran organizations.
Former Marine sergeant, Brad Nadeau, opened Stars & Stripes Brewing to salute military service. Located in Freeport, the taproom serves as a hub to welcome, honor, and support veterans and military families. All are welcome! Stars & Stripes believes that not all wounds are visible, and understand first-hand the often difficult transition from military life into civilian life.

All beer is made by, Nadeau, a combat veteran. His wife, Nancy, runs the taproom.

The brewery’s website,, showcases year-round, specialty and seasonal offerings, with names reflecting Nadeau’s military experience: “Semper Fi.P.A.,” “Platoon Pale Ale,” “Stout & Give Me 20,” and “Ooh-Rah! I.P.A.”

As for the decor, you’ll find spent bullet shells beneath a resin-covered bar. Old military helmets dangling in the bathrooms as light shades. A large dog tag plaque, filled with all the names of people who donated funds toward the Nadeau’s dream is hung above the tables he built. Engraved 50 calibers as beer taps. The flavor of Marine life, known quite well to Nadeau, is as powerful as the beers he’s spent years perfecting. Years of work and investment culminated on Veterans Day (2018) when they opened doors at 8 Varney Road.

The business’ slogan is straight and to the point, in keeping with military fashion: “Enjoy your beer, that’s an order.”
