Each year, Visit Freeport presents one of Maine’s most beloved holiday traditions — Sparkle Celebration!
The 2025 festival kicks off on Friday, December 5 with the Sparkle Celebration Parade of Lights, culminating in Santa’s grand arrival to bring Freeport’s famous Talking Christmas Tree to life!
The magic continues all week long with twinkling lights, festive fun, and plenty of holiday cheer. Enjoy:

Visit Freeport’s Sparkle Celebration is one of Maine’s most popular holiday celebrations. In addition to our signature events, Freeport businesses roll out the red carpet and host their own seasonal festivities including, of course, L.L.Bean’s Northern Lights.
There is so much happening this season, we had to make the 2025 Sparkle Celebration Brochure even bigger! This year you’ll need 11 x 17 tabloid paper if you’d like to print a copy at home. Printed copies will be available starting around 11/24/25 at all your favorite area businesses.

Talking Tree
Visit Freeport’s Signature Talking Christmas Tree comes to life at the end of the Sparkle Parade of Lights on Friday, December 5th this year. The Talking Tree is located at the corner of Main Street & Bow Street. The tree will be ‘awake’ on weekends to visit with guests who want to sing songs together, tell jokes, and more.
Friday, December 5, 2025: Approximately 6:45 – 8 pm
Saturdays 12/6 & 12/13: 11 am – 8 pm
Sundays 12/7 & 12/14: 11 am – 8 pm
Plus during Sparkle Stroll, Thursday 12/11: 12 pm – 6 pm
